International Parents' Meeting 25/07/14

Today eight parents met for our first meeting of the term.  We discussed reporting, homework and preparation for the fair.  Click here to see more detail.

Our next meeting will be on Friday 8th August, where we will discuss strategies to help your child at home.  Bring your good ideas and technology (Ipad, tablet etc) and we will share ideas.

Special welcome

Yesterday we had a mihi whakatau.  I feel it is very special because I have never done this before.

First Mr Richardson spoke to us and the school sung a song.

Next Munashe thanked Mr Richardson for his welcome and we sang a waiata (song).

Last we had a hongi to show that we are all a family together now.
 This is the hongi.

Joy's third week

"This week three new Taiwanese students have arrived at our school.  Sometimes I can speak Chinese to them and help them to feel better.
I am working hard on my homework and Mrs Anthony is helping me.  I feel good because I have finished it!
PE class is very fun because we can play a lot of games.  I like to play tag and learn new games.
Everything at school is fun!"

Planting some trees

I am planting some trees with Samuel .  He is from Taiwan too. I  am happy, because I can speak Chinese with another student. That was fun.
In 5 years those trees will be taller  than me.

Sumner beach

On Sunday morning I went to Sumner beach with my family.  I went to Sumner because my dad wanted to go there.  My family used the car to go to Sumner.

I walked on the sand and took a lot of photos. When I was walking I stood in dog poo!  It smelt bad and I feeled sad.  I think the people who have dogs should pick it up.
